December 2009 - Snow and otters?!
The highlight of this month was certainly the sight of four otters along one of our main rivers. Otters are not often seen at Alladale although there is a healthy local population.

Golden eagles and ravens remained very much in evidence but otherwise it has been very quiet on the bird front. Of course this is not unusual for this time of year but the cold spell which began in late December will certainly have encouraged birds to move off in an attempt to find food elsewhere.
