Paul Lister - Owner
Paul is the owner and leading visionaire of the Alladale Highland Wilderness Reserve. Whilst managing the Lister Family Trust, Paul's passion is conservation and education resulting in him founding the European Nature Trust, a charity that has now adopted a key role at Alladale. His vision for the Reserve, is a unique and pioneering ecological and social regeneration programme that will benefit local wildlife, landscape and communities in the Scottish Highlands.
Hugh Fullerton-Smith - General Manager
Hugh is a livestock specialist and wildlife enclosure designer. Recent projects include the 450 hectare development at Hornby Castle Park in North Yorkshire for deer and bison. From 2000, he has been retained as project manager for the aboriginal group, the Metis Settlements of Northern Alberta (600,000 hectares) and he project managed the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe's mobile abattoir programme for bison on the 1.1m hectare reservation in South Dakota, USA. He has made numerous visits to Mongolia where he represented the US Mongolia Advisory Group to assist nomadic organisations and government to establish mobile meat processing systems in the western aimags (Bayan Ulgi) and in the south (Bayanhongor and Gobi).
OUTDOOR TEAM
Innes MacNeill is Estate Manager. His experience spans almost 20 years of managing the habitat, flora and fauna of the Reserve. He is truly at one with Alladale. His knowledge of the local flora and fauna is positively encyclopedic and after a day on the Hill with Innes and his team of Rangers, guests never fail to return to the Lodge without singing their praises. David (nickname 'Poppy') Clark heads up the ranger team which currently includes Ronnie and John, all of whom enjoy sharing their collective knowledge and enthusiasm built on over 50 years on the Reserve.
LODGE TEAM
With years of experience of hosting lodges and planning events throughout Scotland through her own business, Charlie Raeder, our Lodge Manageress, will greet you upon arrival and welcome you to Alladale. With devotion to making your stay as comfortable as possible she leads the Lodge team; Michelle, Karen, Klara, Kirstin and Sian. Each take pride in their work, seeing Alladale as their home, and with an excellent eye for detail will ensure that Alladale becomes your home-from-home too. With an environmental background, Georgia Bayliss-Brown, our Planning and Sales Coordinator, is passionate about Alladale and its directives and with this devout enthusiasm answers all enquiries that come to the Reserve.
CHEF
Our new chef, Peter Cullen, joins us this year from the reputed Inver Lodge Hotel in Lochinver where he had been head chef for the past seven years. An award-winning chef in his own right and recognised as one of the top chefs in the Highlands, Peter's skills with Scottish produce can be seen on the plates at Alladale from afternoon teas to fine dining with the evening meals. A champion of using local produce, Peter's ethos is to use the best ingredients from the Reserve and surrounding area and making everything on-site to give our guests a memorable dining experience.
