A superb highland lodge offering peaceful seclusion, panoramic views and laid-back luxury at the most remote and beautiful setting in the Scottish Highlands.
Ghillie’s Rest, the smaller our two newly-built, stone lodges, comprises one blissful double room and a twin room. Set in Glen Alladale facing the Alladale River, the lodge is a beautiful building with incredible views.
The living area features high ceilings with a beautiful deer antler chandelier and wood-burning stove.
Locally sourced wooden flooring with under floor heating is complimented with stone features and fabrics and furniture by local company, Anta.
Ghillie’s Rest is fitted with the latest Sonos technology, flat screen TV’s, free wi-fi and Skype. With a fully-equipped hand-made Scottish oak kitchen and Miele appliances, Ghillie’s Rest is finished to the highest standard.
The wonderful dining area overlooks the river and mountains, providing the perfect backdrop for an evening meal after a day of outdoor activities on the 23,000 acre reserve. Full interior design is by Jill Evans (ex Mulberry director).
Pivotal to Alladale’s vision is to build sustainably. All materials, either reclaimed or new have been sourced on the reserve or in Scotland. All electricity within the lodge is generated by Alladale’s hydro-electric scheme.
"Alladale proves a unique retreat for everyone, whether you simply want to lounge by the fire, eat fabulous food, soak up the peaceful atmosphere of a true wilderness amidst stunning scenery, or witness first-hand the Highland ecological restoration programme in which Paul Lister and his team are really pushing new boundaries."
