A superb highland lodge offering peaceful seclusion, panoramic views and laid-back luxury at the most remote and beautiful setting in the Scottish Highlands.
The Lodge was completed in 1877 and has been recently refurbished by Laura Ashley, and stands on an elevated plateau surrounded by native woods with spectacular views over some of Scotland's most northerly ancient Caledonian Scots pine forest.
Originally built as a Sporting lodge, Alladale has maintained its traditional, yet sumptuous, style and comfort. Large elegant rooms with original fireplaces, tall sash windows and many antiques throughout, give you the sense and atmosphere of 'home-from-home'.
The Lodge comfortably accommodates up to 14 guests in 7 en-suite bedrooms. The bedding and linen in the bedrooms and bathrooms have been selected with care with an emphasis on natural fibres throughout; goose down pillows, finest lambs' wool blankets, pure cotton sheets and best-quality, cotton towelling robes.
The Drawing Room with its baby-grand piano, is a haven for those wishing to relax and tell stories of the day's adventures with fellow guests. A log fire constantly blazes throughout the winter months, whilst the sashes in the bay windows are opened for cool breezes and stunning views down the glen in the summer.
With accommodation for eight people, the larger of our newly-built, stone lodges, comprises two elegant double rooms with en-suite ‘wet-room’ bathrooms with two additional twin or double bedrooms. The large living area features high-ceilings and exposed beams with beautiful deer antler chandeliers.
Ghillie’s Rest, the smaller our two newly-built, stone lodges, comprises one blissful double room and a twin room. Set in Glen Alladale facing the Alladale River, the lodge is a beautiful building with incredible views.
